Put the boat in the water this morning at Victoria and backed it off the trailer. All was well until I put it in forward and she kept goin backwards. Any ideas? Where would be a good place to have this checked out. Also, I dont think she is runniing up to par. I think a 90HP johnson should be able to push my 18.5ft aluminum boat a little better than 35mph. I have a free weekend coming up and would like to get this fixed before Friday. Probably asking the impossible.

I am going to take a guess and say it the cable after the other post i have read but I would like to know the best place near Woodstock to take it as I still don't think it is running up to par and there are a few other items, not pressing I would like to have addressed. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

I seemed to have answered my own question. I finally got the box off and apart but ran out of light. So rather than taking my pops fishing in the morning, we will be finishing the job. I do have another question if anyone is still up that has had an OMC box apart. How to I get the mechanism out that is holding the cable?

I've completed the cable swap and actually found that is was not that bad. Not sure if it will apply elsewhere but if you are thinking of doing it yourself go for it. Once I started this morning I was finished in about 30 min and decided to clean up the motor and my bildge.
