Im going to be out there for a few days and going to sneak in a day of fishing. Im from Colorado so your waters are different colir, and temperature. What color Crankbaits and jerkbaits would you guys recommend me to bring along. Anything in natural shad color. White/silver/black or blue backs. You are going to need a boat as the Stripes tend to run deep and in the middle of the lake this time of year. If you are bank fishing I would target Spotted/Kentucky Bass. |

Hello! I am new to the area and am looking for a place to bank fish. I don't have a boat but would love to get out some and fish the banks. I see the map posted...is this map still accurate and also is there any specific directions someone can provide? Not very familiar with the area. Would love to catch crappie or maybe catfish!

Yes the map is still accurate and I would suggest the bridge area at Kellog Creek (Payne Campground) for crappie as a starting place.

How deep is the bank area at the Camping area? I haven't fished in years and feel a bit like a "fish out of water"!!! 😎
Any suggestions on using jigs or live bait options?

Anyone have hints on where to fish at Fields landing? I've fished the dock and the bank right next to the boat ramp using topwater lures in the early morning lookming for crappie and bass but so far no luck.
I wish I had a boat!

Does anyone know a place to bank fish for striper? And is there anywhere to go on Shoal creek?
