Fishing is silly right now for numbers. When the wind blows throw the Blade. WHen the wind dies throw the Senko. The annual Senko bite is in full swing and this is my 2nd favorite bite that I get into every fall. The last 3 days we have put over 100 fish total in the boat. Monday was a 30 fish day. Tuesday was 40+ and Today was atleast 30. We are going through some serious senkos right now LOL. We could have caught more fish but we got tired and went looking for meat during the last halves of the trip.
Lots of numbers on the Senko and a few on the BABS (Christies name not mine LOL) and just a select few on the spoon and dropshot when the opportunity arises on the Humminbird. We are getting an occasional chunk with the vast majority of the fish coming on the Blue Pearl Senko. You really need to pay attention to what the fish are telling you. At times the pattern will last half the day and most of the time it changes every few hours. As the sun rises the patterns change and If you adjust accordingly and stay aware of the bites and flashes that you do get you can stay on them pretty much all day long.
Afte the Senko bite Bill (Toonafisher) wanted to learn swimbaits so I stuck him with a big bait and on his 3rd cast he hooks a 4lb spot with a 2lber chasing it. While figthing the 4lber the 2lber gets hooked now Bill is reeling in a 4lb spot and a 2lb spot but as he is fighting both fish the 4lber got off but he landed the 2lber LOL. Darn luck on not landing that big chunk that would have been cool. Shortly after that he draws up a BIG wolfpack of spots that looked like there were 8 fish in the 3 to 4lb range. The biggest fish in the pack hit the bait and he swung and missed. Then the small one hit it as it was sinking and was on for just a second and then he ended up losing that one as well. Then we got into some deep spoon fish and that was alot of fun. I think Bill had a great time as this was his first time throwing swimbaits. He was hypervintalating after that double up that he almost had LOL. Thanks to Bill and Jim for going out with me this week.
I have only 2 days left open in October and I have already started filling up November. You can pretty much fish any tactic you want right now and catch fish. The big bait bite I predict will start up next week if we can drop our water temps to around 70 we should start seeing some BIG chunks.
Don't forget about the Swimbait Seminar with Randall and myself at Natures Tackle Box in Hiram, GA on Oct 20th
