I have a Mariner 150 EFI Magnum. Over the past few trips I have had to add oil to the engine resivior because the reserve was not pumping enough oil up. I took the line loose form the crankcase and blew thew it and oil moved up to the main tank, I assume that the lines are OK and not kinked or stopped up. I then took the crankcase check valve off and found that it was not holding back pressure, so I cleaned it and although it is holding better it does not hold completly when blown threw. With these tests I would think I need a need crankcase check valve to make things work properly. Any other ideas or suggestions?

I think you found the problem. Replace the pulse valve and you should be OK.
