I too was looking for a club and I have fished a couple of times with Big Shanty as a guest and am fishing with them again Dec 13th on Wedowee. Good group of guys that love to fish and have fun so far and I'm pretty certain I'm joining in January to start the new season. I have a boat but a lot of the tourney's I'll fish as a non boater as they fish some lakes I've never been too (part of the reason I like it).

Childer/Jard , I fish with west Georgia Basshunters. We fish once a month and have a two dy event at least once a year. Dues are 20.00/month. Tx cost is 5.00 for Big Fish pot (optional) and gas money for boater, that's it. I'm sure Big Shanty is a good club, but pm if you want to come as my guest. We are a BASS club. Check out our site:http://www.eteamz.com/WestGeorgiaBassHunters/index.cfm We fish the Alabama lakes a lot. Weiss, Guntersville, Logan Martin, Neely Henry, Wedowee. West Point, Allatoona, and Oconee.

I just checked the site and its up. All though I left the club full time this year, I do fish with them part time as a honorary member. Good group of guys. Call Al Frix @ 678-986-1882

Check out the Bartow County Bass Club www.bartowcountybassclub.com , this year we are fishing Ga, AL, and TN. Dues are $50.00/yr and $30.00/month. We will have a 2 day tour. at Logan Martin and this past year we had a 2 day on Eufalla that the club paid for our lodging. We are affilliated with FLW. We have a lot of fun are there are great guys and fisherman in our club. I am sure that the other clubs mentioned are good clubs also.

I would say that it depends what lakes you would want to fish an learn since u don't have a boat... I would make sure the club you want are looking at go to them paticular lakes.. Also the way I look at it is that if you want to get better as a angler you need to compete against ones that are better than you.. That'd just acouple things I look for..

joining flw is free i believe go to flw.com Flwoutdoors.com is where you will need to go. I'm not sure which membership you need to be in a bass club, but the competitor membership with FLW is $35 a year.
