I was wondering the average life expectancy of a AGM battery. I use 2 Group 24's on my boat that I use 2 or 3 times a month. When not on the water, they stay plugged into my on-board charger. I know with my car batteries, I change them every 4 years, regardless. After that, I feel that you’re taking a risk of that battery breaking down and going bad on you, leaving you stranded. Is there a time guideline to follow with these AGM’s??
Thanks!
Eric

Eric I am a little past the time I don't know much about AGM Batteries, But Basically this, if they are wet cell batteries and you keep them filled with DISTILLED water and charged up,,, trolling batteries will generally last about 3 years,, maybe a little more,, maybe a little less depending on usage,,, Cranking Batteries should last 3-4 years again depending on usage,,, Best tool to buy yourself is a digital volt meter,, Home Depot, Lowes, Sears, Harbor Freight, carry them to name a few, and every so often, after you have given the batteries a full charge, Turn the charger off and let them sit for a few minutes and check the voltage,,, a fully charged 12 volt battery should read 13+ volts, 13-12.7 and they are weak anything lower then that and they are on their last leg. Still may last you awhile but better have the cell phone charged. Hope this helps
