Sunday on Allatoona, WillioJr spotted a weird looking animal running around on a rock wall. I had never seen one before. It looked like a large squirrel but it had a jet black head and a snow white nose. I didn't have my good camera with me so no picture but I did some research and I think it was a FOX SQUIRREL. Here is the link to what I found. I thought it was interesting. dromus.nhm.uga.edu/~GMNH/gawildlife/index.php?page=speciespages/species_page&key=snigerTheres a picture there of the FOX SQUIRREL Jeff

oh ya! I've seen quite a few around the lake. Saturday I saw a Red Tail homing in on several. Man they were pitching quite a fit over it too ;D

I have seen them also. I have not seen that coloration in particular with the white nose, but I have seen the reddish brown/orange ones a lot.

Don't ever try to teach a hog to sing. It is a waste of time and it will annoy the hog.

I used to see them around West Ga. There are red and grey fox squirrels. There is one near a friends house that sits on a wooden fence and raids a nearby Pecan tree, he is solid white. First time I saw him I thought it was a doll someone had placed on the fence, until he ran. I have seen him several times since.

They are absolutely beautiful squirriels. I've seen about a dozen of them this year all over the lake. I actually got a solid black squirriel mounted on my wall. Will take a picture of it later..
