I was certainly not a bank fisherman because I wanted to be. I just didn't have the funds for a boat. Nowadays, the one thing I would suggest to a bank fisherman is to use live bait. You'll significantly improve your odds.
And don't think you have to plop down thousands for a boat. Get yourself a kayak. Or better yet, join a club as a non-boater and fish from the back seat of the finest bass boats in the world. Not to mention learning from veterans.
Hang in there!

i love bank fishing especially since i have a 3 year old it's alot easier to watch him. i have bank fished my whole life and see nothing wrong with it, it's the passion you have for the sport not the possessions you have for the sport. i have caught a 8 pound bass from the bank and of course smaller bass from the bank, but it's all the same to me.

Hey Richierich, How does one find one of these boat clubs? I would be happy to throw in on gas or whatever if I could go out with someone in a boat. I am getting married at the end of the year so I am thinking I can't pull together the money for my own starter boat until summer 2015. When I grew up near Jackson I had friends/family always around to go out with, but I now reside in Marietta and don't know many fisherman besides having to ride all the way to Lanier.
