I plan on having a tree cutting session on Saturday Aug. 18th. Meet at Blockhouse at 8:30 AM should be finished by 11:30 AM. We should be able to finish all of the presently marked trees with this cutting session. So far we have cut over 300 trees this year. Then we can put Jim Hakala and Terrell Stoves back to work marking more trees. I will have maps of all the areas cut to give to those that help. Please post a message here in this thread if you can help.

Waterworld - Begining this year a project between the USACE the DNR and local fishermen was begun to cut trees along the shoreline to increase fish habitat and help stop soil erosion. While this mainly helps the green fish it does provide some cover for the white fish also. I caught a small striper earlier this year out of one of these trees. I will have copies of the maps of all the areas that are being cut to give out to those that help. There is a waiver that you must sign for the USACE and DNR in order to help, as they will not be responsible for any accidents or injuries. If you have a chainsaw (with gas and oil) or big hammer bring it, all other supplies will be furnished. And I always try to remember to bring extra drinks. There have been a lot of fish taken off of the trees that we have allready cut, so the program is working. If you can help just meet us at the Blockhouse boat ramp on Saturday the 18th at 8:30 AM there will be plenty of room for you in someones boat I'm sure.
