OK here it is Sunday Oct. 14th 12:00 noon meet at Gaults Ferry Ramp.
Heres the story: The Corp of Eng. is leaving it up to the Tree Cutting Leaders where to plant the grass seed. The Corp has NO money for the seed, slight possibility that the DNR can furnish some seed!!! The seed needs to be put out ASAP in order to come up before cold weather. Price of seed that I have found that meets the criteria is Winter Wheat - $14 per 50lb bag Maton Grain Rye $22 per 50lb bag. a 50 lb bag of either will cover approximatly 3 acres for our type of application, 1 acre is 204' x 204'. Guys I hope you can see where I am going with this. I will buy 1 bag of each to get us started and I am checking into some other sources of funding the project. I had thought about having a one fish tournament with some % going towards the seed but honestly their is not enough time to get that organized. Maybe some of you tournament fishermen would have an idea. I have been able to get a pump to pump water from the lake so that we can at least give the seed a little drink after it is raked in. Anyway that is where we stand at this time and I will keep you posted as to any changes in the funding of the seed. Hope to see you on the 14th, please post here if you can help on that day and time.

Do you need anything else besides money and volunteers? How many acres are you planning to seed? Enough with the questions. I can be there and will go half on a bag of seed.

do you need us to get the seed? ( I wouldn't mind over seeding my pasture with some of that wheat or rye, so I'd like to know where you plan on getting it anyways ) I can bring the wife and kids that day for extra help too.
