oldfishingfool, I appreciate the heads up. Are you sure that this tree was one that was "cut" the reason that I ask is there were a lot of new blow downs in Stamp last weekend, from the storm I would imagine. If so was there a section of rope attached to it that had broken? If so what color rope was it, so that I can get rid of that type of rope as we have used 3 different types and colors of rope? Also can you pinpoint just what area of the Creek it was in? Thanks for the help.

hey ray, it had a tan colored rope attached to the end of the tree, and the location was, if you out in at stamp creek ramp and go left like you are going to the back of stamp. don't make the right hand turn at the point and look straight ahead it the cove you will see it in the middle of the cove, its not 500 yds. from the ramp. any way i thought i had better pass the word with the night txs. starting up. oldfishinfool

Ray, I think some folks are cutting rope. I saw a tree we cut that was still on the shore but the rope had been snipped...

Ray, If Mike's suspicions are correct, I can get some more 1/2" cable. You may have to increase your staple size, but it's free, and you're not going to cut it without an abrasive blade or bolt cutters. Let me know if you want to try some.

I have to agree Bill. we've already gotten flak from bass fisherman about the trees, not sure why? you would think they would appreciate the new fishing spots we are making for them...

rickyk thanks for the offer, hopefully it will not come to that. I do suspect that someone is cutting the rope and dragging the trees to deeper water thinking that they will sink. The cove where this floater is at I know good and well that those trees were secured as I did one side of the cove and watched the guys on the other side attach those trees. I really don't know how else this could have happened at this location.

As all of you know I am married to a bass fisherman and all fishermen are territorial when it comes to there fishin holes, don't know how many times I have ran up the lake with waterworld and round a point going to one of his favorite spots to hear him say (dang someone is fishing in my spot. (Even though it is everyones lake it is like someone being in your yard and you dont want them there..) So maybe if someone is cutting them they don't want any one in that spot. ? Also it is a big Safety issue during the day but a deadly safety issue at night. I know some of you guys get that adrenaline pumping and fly around the lake and this could be a accident waiting to happen. Please guys keep your eyes open......

I did not even think of someone cutting the ropes when i saw the tree that is in the cove, i just thought with all the rain and the lake rising that it broke due to the size of the tree, if i see any more i will check the rope to see if it has been cut. if anybody else See's any floating trees please post it, it would be bad if someone hit a tree the size of the one in the cove at night. oldfishinfool
