My boat is parked for the winter. I have an on board charger but I'm not sure what to do from now until I decide to take the boat out. Should I keep the charger plugged in all the time? Should I plug it in for a few hours every week?

If you have it stored in your garage, the best thing is to have it plugged in so that the charger runs when you turn the light switch on. This way it gets a trickle type charge and will keep the battery fresh. Too much charging will produce to much sulfur and ruin the battery quicker.
Some of the newer chargers have built in trickle chargers that allow you to leave your it running 24/7.

Flyguy , I would like to know if you have a dual pro charger or not. If you do you can leave it pluged in at all times it has a built in monitoring system in it so if the voltage drops off it will automatically turn on and charge the battery that needs attention.

5 B L, It is a GUEST Total Power Management Charger Series, 2 bank, 3 stage system. (Model 2611A-B-TR2) My boat is stored outdoors with a factory boat cover and aftermarket engine cover. There are some air gaps over the transom where the engine mounts. My concerns are: Build up of gasses ruining batteries ruining charger
Thanks A LOT!!!

I would leave it pluged up and open the rear compartment just enough to leave an air gap ofabout a 2 by 4 so air can circulate and I think you will be fine.

Hi, I need hELP!!! I have a Triton Special Edition Dual Pro Charger XL(2 BANK) I have 1 Brand New Interstate Battery and another about 2 years old. The problem is no matter how long I charge the batteries, only 1 side of the charger turns GREEN the other side stays lit with about five red markers but never turns GREEN. Do I need to replace the other battery or is there a problem with the 7 year old charger. Thanks
