Hi Anthony, Deb did a nice ob on the Christmas stitching stuff for me. I spoke to you at Thanksgiving about a gasket for my 1975 Johnson 85 hp. I have been making some winter upgrades and added a bubble back exhaust with a tell tale, water gauge, boydsen reed valves, a hot foot pedal, 5.5" Hydrodynamics jack plate, new prop and all new cables. Fun,Fun Stuff for me. I bought some used 1 3/16 bore carbs. I put them all on and went to crank the motor. No start. Put on the old carbs, she fired up and had the throttle responce like my mustang gt. Awesome throttle responce from the reeds. Can't wait to hammer it. Checked fuel pump works good. Fuel is getting to the bowels but not to the engine. I pulled them apart and ran safety wire through all orifices and blew them out. The only bad thing I found is on the top carb one idle needle cover is striped. Would that be enough to suck air and not run. Or do you think it is the adjustment on the floats. I drained them when I cleaned them and blew into the fuel line. As I turn the carbs over the air flows then the float closes and the flow stops. I am stumped. I have built many motorcycles, two and four stroke and never had a carb stump me like this. Thanks man.

topless , I would take the bowls off of the carbs and run your safety wire through the pick up tubes , and the high speed jets and make sure that you also remove the idle screws and spray carb cleaner through the seats and make sure there are no blockages.
