Nice pig, but that look likes a spot from the pic. Awesome catch though.

It didn't have a tooth patch. Am I wrong? Don't spots have a tooth patch on the tongue? Plus the lower jaw (when closed) extends past the eye. Just like a LM.

I was wondering how you are catching so many largemouth LOL. The coloration looks like a spot to me. I can't see the jaw very clearly to tell for sure.

Well Heck!! I found out that not all Spotted Bass have a tooth patch. (According to Jim). So....It was a Spot. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

Tinker!, that is definitely a spotted bass, and a very nice one at that! Congrats!
Keys to ID:
mandible when closed doesn't extend well past the eye like it would in LM bold dark blotches (spots) along center line of fish as well as above center line much fainter green dots, dotted lines, or blotches below center line of fish membrane connects (goes straight across) from spiny dorsal fin to soft dorsal fin (membrane is much more notched (goes down) in LM)
Hope this helps.

Nice Fish! Remember duct tape is like the force. It has a light side and a dark side and it holds the universe together.
