I found this today (Sat. 2-20) on the net. Is this possible or just a clever Photoshop? If it is real.....Why isn't he smiling like the Cheshire cat in Alice? Attachments:

I'm about 99% sure that's A musky ! Here's a pic of a musky here ! I would not know a pike from a musky. Heck, sometimes I don't know a Spot from a LM. I have proved it on here. But, at 50+ pounds, I would not care if it was either and on the end of my line. The article said it was a Pike. They look real similar. I think the Musky is a sub-species of the Northern Pike Family. It's a biggun', whatever it is. That is a nice fish you got there. WTG!

I fished for pike for 15 yrs while living in Minnesota and that is definitely a pike. 50+ lbs if a reality, my guess somewhere in Canada (I believe the world record is 65 lb or so)

I caught a 3 - 4 lb. Pickerel on Lake Seminole once. Similar to a pike. When I saw the fangs in the mouth it scared me. I thought it was gonna eat the boat. It was real slimy and made a mess in the boat. I was glad to get rid of it.

That is a pike. I read the story a couple of years ago. The guy didn't catch it by hooking it!!!! He caught another pike and this monstrosity latched on to it and wouldn't let go!! Here is a pic: Attachments:

That would not be a world record pike, the current world record is 55lb in Germany, numerous larger pike have been caught in Europe and not claimed. The "unoffical" world record was 93lb caught in Ireland years ago.
An excellent read if you can get it is "The Domesday Book of Mammoth Pike" This book contains numerous pictures of 50, 60 and 70lb pike.
Pike generally grow much larger in Europe than here in the USA. Whereas here the Musky grows much larger than the Pike. There are no Muskies in Europe.
