OK, I guess I should have said "Top Speed". In my case 30 MPH! I notice that at full throttle there is a "rattle or vibration noise. At 90% it is not there. (So, I run at 90%) If it were a car I'd say it sounds like the valves are floating. I guess it could be in the lower unit or maybe the prop but I can't tell. My boat is a 2006 Bass Tracker with a 50HP Merc. At the most I have 20 hours on the boat. It has always made this noise. I did hit a rock at low speed and it chipped the prop so I had a new prop put on at Bay Marine in Kennesaw and they checked the shaft. (It was straight)
Any troubleshooting ideas?
Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff I am certainly no mechanic, but mine will do something similar if I trim it up to high while on plane. This is due to cavitation of the prop I would guess, so if I notice it I always trim it back down a bump. Just a thought.

This is a tough one to diagnose without going to the lake and seeing or hearing it. Let me know the next time you are headed out and if it works into my schedule I will try to meet you there for a test run.

Anthony, I'll give you a call late next week or early the following week to try to set something up. Thanks!
