Don't ever try to teach a hog to sing. It is a waste of time and it will annoy the hog.

I wanted to tell everyone about a product I installed on Minnesota Mike's boat. He bought the boat 2 years ago. It is a Xpress 18 ft tournament edition with a 150 optimax. When the dealer was unloading it from the trailer he broke the tip of the skeg, which he welded back on, which later broke again. Mike ordered a cover and I installed it last Monday. It made a noticeable difference in the performance of the boat, better lift, hole shot and top end. We were fishing the Tx Saturday and changing locations, were up on plane and suddenly the speed dropped and the RPMs went up. He shut it down and raised the motor. The cover was gone. When he got home he emailed the company and in 30 minutes he got a reply asking for his phone# he replied and in a few minutes he got a call from the owner of the company. He said they had been working on the problem before Mike's email and it was traced to one operator who instead of cleaning the mold as she should, instead had used more and more mold release causing the adhesive not to bond to the cover. It was obvious that he was right by my inspection. He also said they had changed the procedure to cleaning the mold each cycle and had removed the release agent from the production area. He told Mike that he would send him a new one at no charge and he profusely apologized. The company is Black fin skeg www.blackfinskeg.com/ I would recommend it as it is amazing the lift and performance difference it made.

Is this something that mounts over your skeg or replaces your skeg?

It slips over the skeg, no drilling, just some sanding, and applying of the glue.
