I have a problem controlling our trolling motor. It is a 70 lb Motor guide and when I go to high speed it is almost impossible to keep straight. It wants to go from side to the other. I have to put both feet on it to keep it straight.

What kind of foot pedal do you have? Is it plastic or a metal pedal? The reason is ,if it is a metal one like on the Tour Edition you have two cables and you have adjustments on both of them. If it is plastic then youhave to do it another way and is a pain in the BUTT if you have never done it.

We have the metal pedal. Would those adjustment add some drag? It moves the pedal but it doesen't feel like there is any backlash or lost motion.

do a search on bass boat central, Jones trolling motors, he explains how to tighten up the motor so it does not turn so easy. i did mine and it is the same motor that you have, it is a little aggravating but it fixed the problem. oldfishinfool

Look on the front of the pedal where the cables enter the pedal and you will see a nut on each cable. Turn the nuts to tighten them till you get the feel you want and that should take careof it.

go figure mine is the plastic pedal, par for the course. I need to upgrade it anyways, 46 lbs doesn't always cut it...

I am wrong, ours is plastic. I would have bet the farm that it was metal.
