Hours on the outboard

Is there a way to know how many hours are on my outboard? It is a 1999 Mercury 150 EFI. Maybe this hours are stored in the ECU (fuel computer?) Don't really need to know but when I bought the boat I was told that there were only 20 hours on the engine.

Yes the hours are stored in the ECU and you have to hook it up to find out.
