On November 12th 2010 a documentary film called In The Shadow Of The Blade will be shown in the Strand Theater in the Marietta square. Also in attendance at this special viewing will be the “Baby Kathleen” and the Army Nurse that saved her life, Capt Donna Rowe. This is a healing film and you will need tissue throughout the film if you are a Vietnam Vet. I had one last ghost of the war in my back pocket. Every time I saw or heard a Huey I would get the sense of an odor. It was the odor that the Hueys took on after their many troop lifts and casualty pick ups. It was a combination of hydraulic fluid, blood & guts and death. It didn’t matter how many times the bird was scrubbed, that odor was always there. I went to a presentation of the film at the Cobb County Civic Center five or six years ago. For some reason that ghost left me, I was finally healed of my guilt and bad memories. If you haven’t seen this film, I highly recommend it. Tickets are $25.00 each with part of the proceeds going to the Georgia Vietnam Veterans Alliance Christmas for active duty Soldiers, Sailors, Marines & Air Force living in the area. Show time for this film is 8:00 PM on 12 November, 2010. www.buzzle.com/articles/shadow-blade-story-reconciliation-coming-terms.html
