Since having my gallbladder removed last week has delayed my dragging one of these old boats out to the lake I put in a few phone calls to my able bodied fishing buddies. Everyone told me they were catching crappie but the bite was slow (for them more than two to three hours to catch a limit is slow). This afternoon after a followup visit to my doctor I pulled down by the ramp where I live and the neighborhood kids were fishing the bank across from the dock and put four good crappie in their bucket in the few minutes I sat and watched. They had to do a little good-natured rubbing it and show me the big crappie. I will remind them that a lot of their equipment came from the old fatman. Fishing may just keep them out of trouble.

I witnessed a crappie catch in the knox bridge area friday, they are starting to bite indeed.
