Hello Everyone. Well I am kinda new to the area, or atleast Allatoona in the fishing aspect. I am going to Kennesaw University, and I am from Cave Spring Ga, just south of Rome. I do most of my fishing on Lake Weiss and the Coosa River area but my roomate has a pplace on Allatoona and well 5 days a week if i could add some fishing it'd make life more enjoyable. Alright well I think i will be using the ramp that is under I-75 and just to the east, anyone wanna gimme some pointers about getting started? I really wanna try to get on some Stripers and Hybrids. I have a Lowrance umm x135 i think, pretty basic i gotta get it working too. But now you know any limitations i face, and i have a 15ft Alumacraft Jon, with a Yamaha 25hp, and more identifiably i drive a 89 red extended cab toyota, or a 87 K5 GMC Jimmy, so if you see me by god yell at me and stuff. I'll talk you can talk what ever haha. anyways, any help towards pointing me towards the fish in thin "new" (to me) lake would be very appreciated.

I'm certainly no expert on that end of the lake or on stripers, so can't help much there on where to go. My advice is read alot and spend as much time as you can on the lake. As a fisherman, you'll be able to piece things together. Recently fish have been caught shallow on a wide variety of presentations. Check out the results from Porko's in the tournament section. You'll make alot of new friends here and learn much. Welcome to the board!
