Well lets do another tree cutting on Saturday June 15th and put some more fish condos in the lake. I know it is getting hot but this is the first time this year that I have been able to get all of the different factors to line up for a cutting. And even though it is getting hot I will still need you to wear long pants during the cutting and some sturdy boots or shoes. I will have waivers for all the volunteers to fill out and sign as well as emergency contact #'s and first aide kit. We will need to spend some time making more cables and of course a detailed safety briefing before leaving to cut is a must.
Where: Galts Ferry Boat Ramp When: 8:00AM - Noon
PLEASE REPLY IN THIS THREAD IF YOU PLAN ON ATTENDING!!! (And let me know if you will bring a boat, chainsaw or just a warm body)

Man, I was beginning to wonder if we were ever going to cut some more trees. As you mentioned in earlier posts, will the DNR mark the trees to be cut? I will be there with out a doubt!

I am looking forward to coming. This is the first one that I can attend since I have been on the board, and I'm excited about meeting some of the heroes that post regularly and that come to help out around the lake. I will bring me, a boat, a chainsaw to help out wherever needed.

Ray, didn't really know which one would do the marking, but anyway the beaver will do everything I can to be there, haven't missed one yet since I started.

There is a possibility I could come and help out. Do I have to commit to a certain number of hours to help out??

QDSeaHorse I look forward to meeting you and need all the help I can get with or without boats or saws. If nothing else we can always use people to make up cables and secure the cut trees with the cables. All you need for that is a big hammer. Cliff I know you will be there if at all possible and I look forward to seeing that new boat of yours. Frank you do not have to stay for the entire time. I do need you to be there at the start for the safety meeting but after that leave when you want, but let me know when you leave so that I have everyone accounted for at all times is all I ask. I do plan to be back to the ramp and loaded up no later than noon.

Looks like it might be a small turn out, but that's happens. dannyp's bass club will be supplying some help as well. I know we will still put some good structure in the water and the DNR is targeting these trees as a release point for the largemouth fingerlings stocking that is going on. I have been told that studies show that these bass stay within 1/4 - 1/2 mile of their release point for several years.

I know that it happens, but just amazing to me that with over 3000 members of the forum, we have trouble getting a reasonable turnout for something that everyone will benefit from. Oh Well, I plan on seeing you Saturday.
